I’ve never been more in agreement with everything you pointed out here. Nothing, absolutely nothing was going to make a lame duck Trump blink on the Dems demands. As you say, either he’d let millions of federal workers, military, air traffic controllers, receivers of SNAP languish till hell froze over, or he’d have brow beaten his acolytes to chuck the filibuster, (which now will be on death watch from here on out).
